As of July 9, 2020 Courts in the 9th (Mid-Hudson Valley) and Third (Capital District) Judicial Districts are entering Phase 4 of their re-opening. Permitted in person or telephonic appearances for child support, permanency proceedings, custody, plea and sentencing for defendants not incarcertated, felony criminal proceedings for defendants currently held in jail, superior civil proceedings where a party is represented by counsel, and arraignments for defendants issued desk tickets.
Please not however, that vehicle and traffic matters are still being postponed by the local justice courts. Once I receive information, I will pass along to each client. Some local courts are entertaining plea by mail to curtail their dockets
